Personality Assessments (Background)


Personality tests have been around for centuries. Some are free, while others are proprietary and come with a hefty price tag – but regardless of their scientific validity, they are considered a vital tool in the pre-selection process of your potential employees. These tests analyse multiple emotional reactions (usually classified as positive and negative) in response to a set of important stimuli, the voice analysis characteristics created through research to correspond with major human emotions. The Emotional Diamond was devised to symbolise key emotional reactions using an 8-leaf ‘diamond’: This way, we have “energy” at the top, which indicates a forward-moving reaction, vs “stress,” which pushes one back and protects against harm. “Emotional” vs. “confident” (rational), “passionate” vs. “thoughtful,” and “concentrated” vs. “uneasy” are some of the terms used.

The entire procedure necessitates the candidate’s inner reactions in a carefully designed guided imagining situation, capturing significant emotional reactions as well as the pleasant, negative, or neutral “taste” left by the memories and experiences.
